Skansen Akvariet

Like I said in my previous post a few days ago I needed to get some shade after walking aroung at the outdoor museum and zoo Skansen so I visited their aquarium for a while. It´s always cozy in here and they have a part where you can walk in and say hi to the lemurs. Ofcourse you can´t touch them but they are running around everywhere so you might have one close at your head or stroking against your leg. ALWAYS BE RESPECTFUL OF THEM, it´s a privilage to get to do this so it´s important to show them the respect they deserve. I know alot of kids get exited but please tell them to not chase them or scream. But before doing a visit to the lemurs they have, just when you enter, sloths and monkeys in smaller enclosures. And today I was lucky that one of the sloths were sleeping just by the window. HOW CUTE ARE THEY!? I have to admit that I do have problems taking photos here, because every place have different lighting and some are inside as well as others are outside.

From here I went straight to the lemurs because come on how cute are they. I stood by and listened to one of the persons who works there talk about them with two really interested people.

Inbetween the lemurs and the other animals, since this is the second floor and you have to go down again, they have this fun little corner where you can guess what animals skeleton is. I remember going here with the kids at work and they loved this place and had 100 guesses each.

After that I continued my tour and stopped by to say hello to the meerkats, another place I could stand at for forever. Just look at those little faces.

Then after a quick visit at the baboons I went inside to the actual aquarium. Inside you can see insects, crocodiles, fishes, lizards and snakes. They also had some exotic birds this time around which was fun, but they were crazy fast so managing to get them in focus and on a photo was alot of work haha.

To sum this visit up I had a great time. Usually I go with a friend but this time I went all alone and it feels great. Just relaxing, I could visit the lemurs and stand by the meerkats a long time and just enjoy them without someone wanting to go somewhere else. I do enjoy going together with friends alot don´t get me wrong but sometimes you just need a day to yourself going in your own pace. Well that´s it for this time, see you soon, bye!

Sunshine, Photography and Cherry Blossoms

This weekend we had amazing weather and after this harsh winter I took the opportunity to be out and about in our beautiful city. Firstly I took the ferry out to Royal Djurgården to fetch one of my christmas gifts namely my annual pass to the outdoor museum and zoo Skansen. Ofcourse when the weather was glorious I had to do a visit. I love walking around watching the old buildings, enjoy the view over Stockholm, watch the animals be goofy and enjoy the sunshine. Since I want to get back to Photography again I spent some time walking around and take picture. I hate that I feel like a newbie all over again, looks like Potography is something you have to keep up so you don´t forget the basics.

Anyways, I walked straight towards the back of the zoo where I knew the bears where and I kid you not I could have been standing here all day looking at them because they where running around like crazy, playing and taking baths. And if you know bears, you know they are fast so I didn´t have many seconds to get that shoot so well every picture was a challenge. But here are some of them that looks somewhat normal.

Then I started to make my way from the back to the front of the Zoo and took some more photos along the way. Sadly my favorites The Artic Foxes was closed because renovations. One of them got attacked by a fox that made it into their enclosures a while back which I´m so sad about because they are so beautiful. But everything they can do to keep them safe in the future is good. There is also alot of viewing points over the city all around Skansen which is nice, especially a hectic springday like this one. There were people everywhere.

I walked around for a while before I decided to go into the shade for a while so I took some time and visited the aquarium as well. Sadly, even though it´s inside of Skansen this is another owner so you have to pay an additional fee to get inside which many people don´t know about. Before you could get a discount here but that is not the case anymore. Those pictures will show up in another post or else this post will be to long.

From Skansen I took a lovely walk to Kungsträdgården where the cherry blossom trees where in full bloom. This is a very popular thing here so there was tons and tons of people there which was crazy. I usually visit early in the morning when there isn´t alot of people and this reminds me exactly why because you could hardly move. I was there for 5-10 minutes before it got to much for me.

Have you enjoyed the sunshine lately and gone on adventures? I´m now more than ready for a new week to begin and also start a new project together with a friend but I will explain more of that in a later post. I have some fun post laying in waiting. It feels good to be back, thanks for sticking around it means alot to me. Until next time…

Valborg (Walpurgis Night)

Welcome Spring, you have been missed!
Last night we celebrated Walpurgis Night, Valborg, here in Sweden and that is a very fun and lovely tradition to welcome spring back again after the long harsh winter. What we usually do is watching a huge bonfire in one of the close by areas, have a nice evening out with family and friends.

Me myself visited my parents, had dinner with them before taking an evening walk to see the bonfire. The area we visited also had fun games you could do and had a nice little choir singing which I guess most places have. I took some fast photos and then I took another short stroll back home and took some nice photos on the way as well. I really want to get back to Photography so from now on I will do alot more spontaneous walks with my camera.

Let´s talk about Penpalling and why you should do it

Today I want to talk to you about something that has become very dear to me, penpalling. And why on earth I started it and why you should join in on the fun is exactly why I wanted to do a whole post about it. So here we go!

Why did I start penpalling?
Like most of you probably did in school my penpalling journey started back then when we got a random stranger to write a letter to and in this way learn a new language. Most people stopped after the assignment but during the pandemic, when alot of us suddenly had more free time at our hand this fenomenon grew alot on social medias. And one day I happen to stumble upon one of these hashtags and to quote Jasmine from Aladdin, a whole new world opened up before my eyes. This was such a fun way to be creative in and at the same time get to know alot of new people in a time when you couldn´t do that. So I asked an Instagram friend if she wanted to try this out. She said yes and from that on it just developed into something really amazing.

How does penpalling work in a creative way?
Firstly I must adress the big elephant in the room. Penpalling should always be done for fun and the focus should always be on the letter itself. Here is normally what I do because it´s what my penpals have decided on beforehand. In one decorated envelope I´ll send the answer to a letter, decorating pages is so much fun for me and then I´ll send some goodies. The goodies is nothing you have to do but it´s something me and my penpals like to do from time to time. We send eachother stickers, washitape samples and sometimes an postcard, an print, bookmarks and so on just to make the other person smile. But first and always first is the letter. In the first letter I also included a little extra note with question for my penpal to answer, so I could get to know them better. And I also from time to time send an extra note with recent movies/books/series I have watched and would recommend. Same I´ll do another little note with songs I loved lately and this way we can share the love for music and find new songs and artist we like. I´ll do another post later where I show how I do it step by step.

Why you should start penpalling
I´m not forcing anyone here to actually do it but I would highly recommend it because it´s so much more fun to get an handmade letter in the mail than boring bills and advertisments. It´s also a very relaxing and creative hobby. You get to start a blank page and decorate it how you want. Either with washis or stickers or if you are good at that draw or paint something on an envelope, letter sheet or do an artprint. There are no rules in penpalling. I would suggest that you start with someone you know already and start there. I´ve gotten to know so many new fantastic people both in my own country and in other countrys which I wouldn´t have done if I didn´t send that first letter. And lastly if you are a stationary nerd like me this is also a way to get creative and use those lovely letterpads, stickers, washis, stamps and so on and send it to someone and know they are smiling because you sat down and took that time to make them something. That´s such a wonderful feeling. And don´t get me started when you got that long awaited reply as well.

Do I need alot of stationary to do this?
Absolutely not. But you do need a paper, an envelope and a pen to get started. As I already said the most important part is the writing itself. There are alot of ways to penpal. Do you have a sheet of stickers laying around that you don´t know what to do with? Why not put some on the letter iself around the edges to make it look fun. As I already said you only need a pen, a paper to write on and an envelope to send the letter in and your good to go. I started out with nothing but a pen and a sheet of stickers and thanks to my lovely penpals I´ve gotten some in gifts from them during the years. And I do have an unhealthy relationship to stationary since I was a kid so I have way to much to test out with. But that is not something that´s important. Remember penpalling should be done for fun, writing first and foremost and then you can go deeper with the creative stuff. You might have an magazine laying around…why not try to be creative with that one?

As I already said I´m going to talk about this a little more in the future because it will be such a long post if I wrote it all down in this one. So if you are curious about penpalling or just want to ask questions about it please feel free to do so and I´ll answer them in the upcoming post. Have a nice day!

Where did this month go?

Hello friends…let me just start this post by saying…that didn´t go as planned did it?
It was supposed to go: start the blog, document life, blog about everything and nothing, But it kind of skipped a few steps and went straight to the write nothing part, yikes. Let´s just say this blogging thing was much easier to do when I was growing up. Adulthood and life just keeps on getting in the way…again. But I guess that´s just exactly what life is about and I will try to be better in this department from now on. So what have I´ve been doing since last time I wrote?

I have been to gigs, penpalling, gone on adventures and been out and about with my camera. I celebrated easter with having a looooong awaited and much needed 10 day vacation and just relaxed. How about you? Have you done something fun lately?

Beside vacation I visited Musikaliska last Friday to watch two of my favorite singers Peter Johansson and Emmi Christensson and if you know musicals you definitely know who they are. Both Emmi and Peter have been onstage in West End in London which is pretty cool if you ask me…

Let´s hope it won´t be another month until I update next time. I do have some post planned in my head, I just need to sit down properly and actually write them down. Is it something you would like to read about like penpalling, photography, life, books, musicals, exersize, movies a little extra soon? Then I will definitely start working on that post first. Just let me know…I´ll appretiate the help and you will actually read about something you find interesting haha. Just leave a comment and I´ll get to it. Have a nice week and I´ll hope next post will be up this week or beginning of next week. Bye!

Jason Derulo @ Annexet, Stockholm 2024

One of the things you might not know about me is that I have a list of artists I want to see live just once in my life and a few days back I got to check off one of them. And to say I was excited was an understatement because I have listened to Jason Derulo since back in the days when he got his breakthrough. And since then he has become one of my favorite artists.

I left work and headed to the arena alone because I have realized I can´t miss out on stuff anymore because people can´t afford or don´t have the interest on following along. We started the evening with 2 DJ´s, Afro B and DJ Sincere to warm up the audience but to be honest not many people had arrived to the arena at this time so it felt more like of a good old school disco but it was a nice vibe and the closer to showtime we got you could really feel the anticipation in the room. You could literally cut the tention with a knife. Or feel the audience getting ready to explode. And suddenly it was time and the audience did exactly that when Jason and his amazing dancer entered that stage…The screaming, cheering and jumping out of happiness knew no boundries…

Opening with Wathcha Say from 2010 which probably was the song most of us started this journey with was genious and then combining it with the new song Tip Toe really set the mood for the rest of the show. Because a show was exactly what it was. Not only the songs, the vocals but the dancers really went all in and made us all dance and cheer for the rest of the 2 hour long concert.

Can we talk about something else for a moment. When I left work pretty late I really anticipated to be standing all the way in the back but at the time I arrived there was still room to stand in the front which was such a suprice. Crazy but wow what a memory to bring with me through life…

How can I even begin to descibe how good this show was to someone who wasn´t there? I honestly don´t think I can. I´m over here still in AWE even though the show was 2 days ago. Now I can only hope someone will record this tour so I can buy it later and rewatch time and time again!

If I look tired in the picture it´s nothing weird. I was up since 5 the day before and had 2 very long workdays before this show so that´s why I look a bit exhausted. Plus the fact I danced, screamed, cheered and ugly happy sang for 2 hours straight haha. Wow what an evening. Can´t belive it!

Travel Diary – Prague 2023

The day came when it was time to head from work to the airport for another fun adventure with my co-workers. This years trip went to a place most of us was excited about namely Prague. Most of us have wanted to visit this place for years but since one of our older collegues is born there, and she has now retired, it hasn´t been an opportunity until now. Our boss have visited before so it was very nice to already know of some restuarants and places to visit beforehand. For the first time I didn´t do much researched but just followed along on the journey which was relaxing haha.

We lived just a short walk from the famous Charles Bridge which was a nice surprice. Walking around enjoying the sunshine was the best feeling of the trip. Just being in the moment, enjoying what life offered. And as I said I had done no research beforehand this time because my boss have been there before and knew of some cute places to visit.

The building down below is Hard Rock Café and just look at those details on the facade itself. This is something I saw all over Prague on some buildings which was an interesting detail and hightend the experience.

And as every other tourist we went and watched the famous clock, which is pretty nice to look at but honestly the show in itself is very hard to watch if you don´t have the PERFECT spot which you will probably never have haha. So all we did see was something moving basically haha.

Then we did a very touristy thing. We took the frikken ECO TOURIST TRAIN and let´s just say it was an…Experience. It was nice taking the train up all of those frikken hights BUT we did not see a frikken thing because, you couldn´t get of, they took weird roads and stopped basically where every tree was INFRONT of the landmarks. Yikes. I´ll let the pictures speak for themself…Most of the pictures I took while it was moving or stopped at red stop signs. My favorite is the one taken from the beautiful viewpoint…which we drive fastest by on all the ride, I bet it was great hahaha.

While writing this I realized so many photos have dissapeared when I put them on my external harddrive. Which means that tomorrow I have to charge the batteries for my old phone and hopefully get them from there to my computer. Oh well those things might happen. That just means a part two is coming…

Hello friends,

Before you ask, yes I´m still writing the travel posts from Prague and Uppsala from last summer. Lately my inspiration to sit down and write a line or two haven´t existed. Well I have wanted to write but the writers block is a fact and the posts just sounded and looked weird and I don´t want to send that out in the universe to be honest.

What have been happening since last time we spoke then? Well, I found the inspiration to take photos again which is nice. Mom bought these beautiful tulips so I took a few pictures of them when I visited them last time. I´ve been journalling alot which have been fun and relaxing. And I HAVE BEEN WORKING OUT! Yes you read that right. Miss I only move if I need to have been Working Out 3 – 4 times a week lately, why? Well, I will be writing a blogpost about that soon.

Some things I have been doing lately is also buying some fun tickets to concerts. I have a list of artist I want to see live sometime in life and one of those artists, Jason Derulo, will show up here in February so that is something I´m looking forward to do. I have some other upcoming plans I hope to do as well but I just have to see if I can moneywise because everything is so expensive at the moment.

Talking about expensive they have now raised the prices on stamps so I had to explain to my penpals that I will SLOW PENPAL from now on. Instead of sending replies to letters when I get them, I will send out letters when I can afford and have the time. They really make this hobby hard for us all which is sad. But I´m still looking forward to do this but in a different way than before. I know I haven´t talked much about it here on the blog but I will soonish, like most of my post right now they are in the saved post folder here on the blog, but soon!

Tell me, how have you been lately? Have you done anything fun? Or are you waiting for some fun entertainment coming up?

Pregnancy Photoshoot

Hello!

2024 have arrived with a bang and I am so ready for what it has in store for all of us. The year started with the coldest och cold days so what a beautiful moment to have a Pregnancy Photoshoot right? My lovely friend Sara contacted me and asked if we could take some photos of her pregnancy because she felt the little one wont have patience to stay for much longer. So ofcourse I said yes and took my gear and headed out together with them in – 11 degrees.

First of all, I haven´t picked up my camera to do these kind of photos in years and the circumstances wasn´t the easiest to work with. The cold, the wind and actually take the photos with years away haha. But we had a fun couple of hours together with jokes and laughter which was great. Sara is always so prepared for anything so she had multiple outfits to change into and I think the photos turned out pretty great. And being back taking pictures again felt so good. I need to keep it up during the year!

Like I said I haven´t done photoshoots in years so it was a bit of a challenge. But I think the pictures I showed looked somewhat professional but at the same time showed so much of their personalitys at the same time. And don´t get me started on the faboulous pictures A took of me and Sara behind the scenes…

Welcome 2024

Hi friends, how are you doing? Are you as happy as I am that 2023 is finally over?

During last year I decided to start blogging again because I missed it so much. I missed being creative, telling storys from life and just write, write, write. But as you could tell my last 2 months of the year I just dissapeared and I´m so sorry for that. The reason behind that where that I needed to survive, yes survive. I was overwhelmed, overworked and just completely exhausted. So everyday survival was my number one priority. Apparently growing up and being an adult means putting things that makes you happy aside for…life. And I´m okey with that but I must admit I have missed you alot. But I´m back and working on the long overdue posts from last summers travels.

The posts I´m currently working on is the Roadtrip to Uppsala, Sweden which was such a nice day. Everything worked out exactly as smoothly as I hoped and it was an amazing day out with my family. One of those days I will remember for a long time to come.

And I´m finally working on the blogpost about our trip to Prague. I have wanted to visit this city for a long time and even though everything with that trip started in chaos and had a crazy heatwave I´m so happy it finally happened.

My only goal for 2024 will be to prioritize my selfcare and actually edit and post about those fun things I do in the near future and not a year after hehe. How about you, do you have any goals you want to prioritze this year?
